Well, it’s that time of the year… Fall semester is in full swing, Facilities is putting up the stupid rope all over campus, and the smell of RV exaust could only mean one thing… AU FOOTBALL!!! Auburn’s first game is a nationally televised one this weekend on ESPN2 against Washington State. We are ranked high again this year before the season even starts. Depending on the poll you look at, we rank anywhere between 4-7. This always scares me. I believe we should be ranked in the teens and be allowed to work our way up. That to me shows the true offense/defense of a team, not the preason rank! Oh well, can’t do anything about it except cheer on those tigers and hope they win every weekend! War Eagle!

This weekend is my last holiday until the Thanksgiving Break (boo). It’s also the last weekend before Alabama Power begins to lower the water level at Lake Martin. So, with that said, Brittany and I are going to be at the lake for most if not all of the long weekend! It will be a nice time to relax, enjoy dad’s new boat, and get some late summer sun! Maybe if it’s not too warm, I can sneak in a early morning / late evening of fishing. I can’t tell you when the last time I went fishing was… been way too long!

September is almost here, and my schedule is already full (if you can believe that!). Brittany and I continue to make progress in planning our wedding. We have nailed down the date, time, place, officiant, bridal party, photographer… as you know, much more to go….

I have also planned to take two additional certification tests in September… On September 8, I will be taking the CompTIA Network+ exam, followed by the first of three tests to obtain my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer on September 27th.

Enough for tonight… I seriously doubt many read this, but it’s a place for me to blog … Until next time, CS

Well I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on this site but I figured it is time for an update. I am going to try and do updates in a more timely manner but you know how time gets away from yourself ….

Anyways… what’s new in my life? Well, as many of you may know, I’m engaged to my BEAUTIFUL fiancĂ© Brittany! I proposed to her at the lake over the 4th of July holiday weekend! We are busy planning all the small details of our wedding. If you would like more information on our engagement & wedding, visit our wedding and engagement website!

I am also busy taking certification tests. In July, I earned the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification. This certification consisted of four tests that I took over one year… That certification added to my A+, Security+, MCP, and DCSE certifications that I had already earned in the past! I am taking the second and last test to become a Microsoft Certified Destop Support Technician (MCDST). After this test, I think I will attempt to study and take my Network+ and then proceed to obtain the MCSE, which consists of three additional Microsoft tests. My goal for this achievement is the end of October.

That’s about it for right now, I think the bed is calling my name. Like I said above, I am going to try and post on a more frequent basis… stay tuned

I passed my certification test this morning in LaGrange! I am now certified as a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician!! Whoohooo! I guess my next certification will be CompTIA Network+, then possibly the Server+ (jury is still out on that one), then on to completing my MCSE requirements (three more Microsoft tests :-/ )

Ya know, since I used to take all my certification tests over at the College of Engineering, I thought this drive to LaGrange to take tests would be inconvenient. It turns out it only takes like 35 minutes to get to downtown LaGrange from Exit 57… not too bad. You don’t have to feed a meter in downtown either… there are just signs that say 2-Hour parking…

The place I take certification exams is a company called CPAK. They are a technology solution provider who specializes in Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, etc. Here is a Link to their website that has pictures of their office. It turns out they share this office with several other companies including accountants, etc. It’s an older building that was built in 1923 that has been renovated since. Click on the pictures to see a larger view.

That’s about all I have going on today… working on a few projects that have been ongoing for a couple of weeks… I can’t wait for the Labor day weekend to spend at the lake and relax More to come tomorrow –CS
