Dec 22

Well folks, I know it’s been almost a month and a half since I last ‘blogged’, so as I pack to go away for the holidays, I figured now would be a good time to write an update!

First of all, this morning I completed the requirements for the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification! I have been working towards this certification since May! I have played with the technology, read up on it, and studied my butt off to take the numerous tests over the past 7 months and it finally paid off! Actually, I counted it up earlier tonight and this year alone, I have made 13 attempts at passing various certification tests (and no, i’m not saying I passed them all on the first time, only 2 retakes)! That deserves a whew!

Now, everyone is asking what are you going to shoot for next… Vista? Cisco? Actually I have put some thought into that, and I think I am going to take a break from certification testing (after I take a Beta Vista test on January 5) and take a shot at the GMAT! I’ve read many reviews, etc and I know it’s going to be a lot of work ahead, but I seriously do think I want to get my MBA… I mean, heck! I’ve been working for Auburn University full time since October 2002. I told myself that I didn’t want to jump right into my obtaining my MBA because I wanted to take a break between undergrad and further studies. So, I might give this a shot! Say your prayers that I can find the time and motivation to study and take this test sometime in the next couple of months. The deadline to apply for grad school at Auburn is sometime in March.

On another subject, as I write this, We are under five months from the big wedding day! 4 Months, 21 Days, 14 hours and some change to be exact. Things , I’m sure, will be changing gears and switching to the fast lane soon… I can’t wait! It’s going to be an exciting time for Brittany and I! We’ve still got a lot to do including planning a honeymoon!!!! I’m taking suggestions on places to go!

We have some exciting plans for Christmas and New Years! We will be doing the split time around Christmas where I will spend some time in Moulton, then go to Birmingham and/or Montgomery to spend time with my family! My dad’s birthday is tomorrow as well so he is lucky and gets double the presents! HA!

After spending Christmas time with each family, I will more than likely stay in Montgomery or travel back to Auburn and chill. Brittany and I will be leaving on Friday to go to Charleston, SC for our New Year’s celebration! We’re both excited about that since we both have never been to that part of the east coast! We’re going to be traveling familiar roads as we will go from Auburn to Savannah and then cut up to Charleston! A blog entry will definitely be due after we get back.

As I reflect back on 2006, I am thankful for everything in my life! I couldn’t ask for a better fiancĂ©, friends, family, co-workers, and blog readers (ha, jk)! All of you are so supportive and encouraging! May God continue to bless each and every one of you in everything you do!

Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 106:1

Well, that’s about enough of an update for now… I’m sure there are numerous other topics that I need to cover, but I’m tired and the bed is calling my name. I hope everyone, including the few readers of this website, has a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year! See you in 2007!
